Planning Your Route with Map View
Map View plots every assigned inspection, so you can group nearby jobs and sequence a day with the least driving.
Runs on: Desktop and tablet. A web app you open in a browser; it is not built for phones.
Quick Reference
Click Map View at the top of Jobs.
Each pin is an assigned inspection. Click one for its name, number and status.
Group pins that sit close together and sequence your visits.
Click View Job Details on a pin to open the job.
Before You Start
You're signed in to the Inspector Portal and on the Jobs list.
You have more than one job in a day and want to cut travel time.
Step 1 — Switch to Map View
Click Map View
Click Map View beside List View. Every assigned inspection appears as a pin on the map, so you can see which properties sit close to each other.
Step 2 — Check a Pin
Read the summary
Click any pin. A card shows the Inspection Name, Inspection Number and Status, so you can confirm the job before you head out. View Job Details opens the job.
Step 3 — Plan the Day
Group and sequence
Group the pins that sit close together, then order your visits to minimize travel time. Check the Due Date on each job so the earliest deadline comes first.
Zoom in on a cluster before you plan: pins that look stacked at state level can be a town apart.
Tips
DO
- •Plan the route in Map View before you leave in the morning.
- •Open each job from its pin and confirm the address and Due Date.
- •Put the earliest Due Date first when two jobs are close together.
WATCH FOR
- •A pin summary shows the status at the time you opened the map; refresh for changes.
- •Filters set in Advanced Filters also narrow the pins you see.
- •Two jobs at one address stack on the same pin.
