Auditing an Inspector's Work
Assignments, Devices & Notifications and Audit show what an inspector is working on, where their device has been and who changed their settings.
Runs on: Desktop and tablet. A web app you open in a browser; it is not built for phones.
Quick Reference
Open the inspector’s profile and use the Assignments, Devices & Notifications and Audit tabs.
Assignments lists every job, assigned or pre-assigned, with its status.
Devices & Notifications shows the device, its location history and every push message.
Audit logs every settings change with who made it.
Before You Start
You have manager or administrator permissions in the Inspector Portal.
You have a question about an inspector’s workload, a site visit or a settings change.
Step 1 — Review Assignments
Assigned and pre-assigned jobs
Assignments lists every job tied to the inspector: Assigned Inspections and Pre-Assigned Inspections, each with the lender, project, job number, address, status and the date it last changed. Filter by Status to see what is still In Progress.
Step 2 — Check the Device History
Device ID, last location and updates
Devices & Notifications opens with three cards: the Device ID of the registered mobile device, the Last Location with a map link, and the Last Update time. The list below is a timestamped log of locations with the distance between them.
Step 3 — See the Route on a Map
Map View and the Notifications log
Click Map View to see the route as numbered pins joined by a line, useful when a report is questioned and you need to confirm the inspector visited the property. Below the map, Notifications lists every push message with its status, time, title, topic and data.
Step 4 — Read the Audit Log
Who changed what
Audit keeps the Inspector Settings Audit Log: each row shows the log ID, the fields changed, who made the change and any error. When several fields changed at once, click the +N badge to see the full list.
Tips
DO
- •Check Assignments before you give an inspector another job.
- •Use Map View when a lender questions whether a visit happened.
- •Read Audit first when an inspector’s access changes unexpectedly.
WATCH FOR
- •Location history comes from the registered device; a new phone starts a new log.
- •An Error status in Notifications means the message never reached the device.
- •The audit log records settings changes, not inspection edits.
