Green buttons act. Sync data sends your work, Lock Inspection claims a job.
Back, Help and Cancel never submit anything.
Watch the status under the property header: "Saving..." means wait for "Saved."
Before You Start
You're signed in to the RAZE Mobile App with your inspector account.
For the full steps, open the guide the button belongs to. Each item names it.
Step 1 — The Map and the Marketplace
1. List button
The round button at the top right of the map. It switches the panel at the bottom from Accepted Inspections, the jobs already associated with your profile, to Marketplace Inspections, the jobs open to lock. See Locking an Inspection in the Marketplace.
2. Inspection card
A card in Accepted Inspections shows the address, the Lock Date and the request date. Tap the arrow to open the inspection.
3. Refresh
In Marketplace Inspections, the refresh button at the top of the list shows any new listings.
4. X (close)
Takes you back to the jobs already associated with your profile.
5. Marketplace card
Each card shows the street address, the city, state and ZIP, the distance in miles and the request date. Tap it to open the details. A card without confirmed coordinates shows an Unconfirmed badge; you can still open it and lock it.
Lock only the jobs you can complete by their due date.
Step 2 — The Inspection Details and the Inspection Card
1. Back
Returns to the previous screen without changing the inspection.
2. Help
Opens the Help panel for this inspection. From there you can request location support for a job with an Unconfirmed badge, or use Call support, which includes the inspection ID so support looks at the right job.
3. Lock Inspection
Claims the open Marketplace job for you. A loading circle shows for a few seconds; stay on the screen until Fill Coordination Note appears in its place.
4. Phone icon
On the inspection card, the phone icon next to the borrower's number calls the borrower. See Coordinating Site Access with the Borrower.
5. Message icon
The green message icon opens Select Preset AutoText. Keep Recommended AutoText for the standard access request, or choose No AutoText to write your own, then tap Message to open your phone's Messages app with the borrower's number and the text filled in.
6. Cancel
Releases the job you locked. The inspection moves back to Lender Open or to the Marketplace.
7. Fill Coordination Note
Opens the Coordination Note below the inspection details. Once its required questions are answered, this button becomes Start Inspection. See Filling the Coordination Note.
Coordination is mandatory. You can't start the inspection until the required questions are answered.
Step 3 — The Coordination Note
1. Yes and No
Each question with Yes and No switches, like "Is there a set Date/Time?" and Additional Details, takes one tap. Manner of Communication and Party Coordinated with open a picker when you tap Select: scroll to your answer and tap Done. The note saves as you go: the status next to Required shows "Saving..." and then "Saved."
2. Inspection Schedule Date
Appears when you answer Yes to "Is there a set Date/Time?". It starts on Today; tap it, scroll to your appointment and tap Done.
3. Inspection Schedule Time
The time picker uses AM and PM. Check it before you tap Done.
4. Cancel
Releases the locked job, the same as Cancel on the inspection card.
5. Start Inspection
Opens Your Inspection with Photo Gallery, Draw Sheet and Questionnaire, ready for your site visit.
Step 4 — Your Inspection
1. Photo Gallery
Opens the gallery where you take and comment on photos. A check appears on the row when the photos have synced. See Capturing the Photos.
2. Draw Sheet
Opens the line items with Budgeted, Previous and Available percentages and Your Recommendation. See Completing the Draw Sheet.
3. Questionnaire
Opens the site questions. See Completing the Questionnaire.
4. Submit Inspection Report
Replaces Sync data at the bottom once Photo Gallery, Draw Sheet and Questionnaire all show a check. It shows "Loading Preview..." while your report is built, then opens the Inspection Report Preview. See Submitting the Inspection.
Until all three sections are checked, the button at the bottom is Sync data.
Step 5 — The Photo Gallery
1. Take photos
Opens the camera. The counter under the address shows how many photos you have out of 60, and at least one photo is required.
2. Red X on a photo
Deletes that photo from the gallery. Use it for a photo that isn't the inspection site.
3. Add comments
Every photo has its own Add comments line underneath it. Tap it to open the comment field above the keyboard.
4. Home button
The green house at the bottom left returns to the home screen.
5. Sync data
Uploads your photos and comments. Back on Your Inspection, Photo Gallery shows a spinner while they upload, then a check when they're done. Tap it before you leave the gallery.
6. Sparkle button (AI suggest)
To the right of the open comment field. It drafts a comment from the photo: a short list of what's in it. A spinner shows while RAZE AI looks at the photo. See Using RAZE AI for Photo Comments.
7. Green send arrow
Saves the comment. Comments save only when you tap it; the status under the property header shows "Saving..." and then "Saved."
8. Red X on a draft
Discards the AI draft. Anything already in the field before you tapped the sparkle button stays as it was.
9. Green check
Keeps the draft in the field so you can add your own detail before you tap the send arrow.
Read every draft before you tap the check. You're the inspector of record.
Step 6 — The Camera
1. Zoom buttons
Above the photo strip. They change the lens for details you can't walk up to.
2. Shutter
The round button takes the photo. Each photo appears in the strip.
3. Photo thumbnail
Tap a photo in the strip to add a comment to it without leaving the camera. Photos with a comment show a small orange comment icon.
4. Photo count
The number beside the shutter counts the photos you've taken.
Step 7 — The Draw Sheet
1. Available and All
The Draw Sheet opens on the Available tab. Tap All to see every line item.
2. Your Recommendation
The percentage you recommend for the line item, next to its Budgeted, Previous and Available percentages.
3. Checkmark
Fills Your Recommendation with the line item's full Available % and adds a "Completed." note under it. Use it only when that line item's work is complete; a line item you don't check stays at 0%.
4. Line item note
Tap the note (or Add comments) under a line item to edit it, type or dictate your detail, and tap the green send arrow to save it.
5. New Progress and Total Completion
The tiles at the bottom update as you check line items. They show progress; they aren't buttons.
6. Home button
Returns to the home screen.
7. Sync data
Sends your recommendations and notes. Back on Your Inspection, Draw Sheet shows a check once the sync finishes.
Step 8 — The Questionnaire
1. Collapse and Expand
Next to Overview. Questions stay hidden until you expand the section.
2. Inspection Notes
Tap it to open the questions.
3. Yes and No circles
Tap the circle next to Yes or No. A filled green circle marks your answer. Answers save on your phone as you go: the status shows "Saved locally" until you sync.
4. Option list
For temperature, weather and number of workers, tap Select and choose an option from the list.
5. Select field
Shows the option you chose. Tap it again to change the answer. Date questions open a calendar instead, and "Any known Critical Issues?" adds a comment box of up to 150 characters.
Sync data sends the answers. Questionnaire then shows a check on Your Inspection.
Step 9 — The Report Preview
1. Confirm Submission
At the bottom of the Inspection Report Preview. It is gray while the preview finishes loading and turns green when it's ready. Tapping it sends the report: the button shows "Submitting..." and, when it finishes, an alert confirms the submission and the app returns to the home screen. Find the inspection again in My Past Inspections.
Keep the app open until the confirmation alert appears.
Step 10 — The Keyboard
1. Note field
Any comment or note opens in a field above your keyboard. Text already in the note stays, and new text is added at the cursor.
2. Green send arrow
Saves the note to the line item or photo. Closing the keyboard without sending may not save it.
3. Microphone
Your phone's own keyboard dictation, in the bottom-right corner of the keyboard. Tap it, speak, and tap it again to stop. See Using Talk-to-Text for Draw Sheet Notes.
