How an Inspection Moves Through the RAZE API
Your system orders and decides, the inspector works in RAZE, and four statuses tell you where every inspection stands.
Quick Reference
Your system orders the inspection through the API. It opens as Lender Open.
An inspector locks it in RAZE and works the draw sheet. It moves to In Progress.
The inspector submits it. It moves to Submitted, and the report follows.
Your system approves or rejects it: Lender Approved or Lender Rejected.
Before You Start
Your team keeps projects and budgets in its own loan system.
You want that system to order draw inspections from RAZE and get the results back.
Step 1 — Order from Your System
Create the inspection
Your system sends one create call with the project and property details. RAZE creates the inspection, and the project with its first inspection, and returns the IDs you keep for every later call.
The status is now Lender Open: the inspection is ordered. Lender Open is the order, not the start of the work.
Step 2 — The Inspector Works in RAZE
Lock and inspect
An inspector locks the inspection in RAZE, visits the site and fills in the draw sheet, photos and notes. The status is In Progress from the moment the inspection is locked.
Submit
When the work is complete, the inspector submits the inspection back to you. The status moves to Submitted, and the report follows after RAZE quality review.
Step 3 — Follow the Status from Your System
Check status through the API
Your system reads the status by checking the inspection through the API on a schedule. The portal calls this step Check Status & Download Results (Polling).
Step 4 — Decide in Your System
Approve or reject
Your team reviews the submitted inspection and its report, and your system sends an approve or reject call. The status becomes Lender Approved or Lender Rejected.
A rejection returns the inspection to In Progress with your reason, which the inspector sees.
Tips
DO
- •Treat Lender Open as the order and In Progress as the inspector's lock.
- •Read the status from your system on a schedule.
- •Keep the inspection decision separate from your draw funding steps.
WATCH FOR
- •Lender Approved and Lender Rejected are the inspection decision, not a draw status in RAZE.
- •Approving the inspection doesn't fund the draw.
- •Submitted means the inspector is done; the decision is still yours.
