Draw Inspections in 5 Unique Places, May 2026

Every month the RAZE Coverage Report picks five places where RAZE completed draw inspections and shows what made each one different in the field. RAZE takes orders at any U.S. address, including Alaska and Hawaii, on one RAZE Rate Card with no travel surcharge, so the differences show up in the conditions, not the price.

May 2026 began on the Texas Gulf Coast in Houston, the country's leading market for single-family permits, then crossed the state to the Texas Panhandle and went on to Cajun country, the hills of northern West Virginia and Florida's Space Coast. Parts of those markets can be a long way from a strong signal, and in two of the towns, orders have come in as lot numbers.

The market

No U.S. metro issued more single-family building permits in the first half of 2025 than Greater Houston. It is a lot of ground to cover: the metro spans 9,444 square miles, more than New Jersey, and several of the country's top-selling master-planned communities sit on its west and northwest edges, around Katy, Cypress and Fulshear. Houston itself is the largest city in Texas and the seat of Harris County.

How RAZE ran it

In a metro this size, the work is the miles between sites as much as the sites themselves, and a lender's draws can land in every corner of it. RAZE runs each Houston order on the same four steps (order, dispatch, capture, deliver), and every report comes back in the same format, with geo-stamped, time-stamped photos, so a lender reviewing a month of Houston draws reads them all the same way.

The market

Canyon is the seat of Randall County, just south of Amarillo, and home to West Texas A&M University, founded in 1910 as West Texas State Normal College. Palo Duro Canyon State Park lies about 12 miles east, protecting part of the second-largest canyon system in the United States. New building runs from subdivisions on the edge of town to acreage homesites out on the open plains.

How RAZE ran it

Out on the acreage toward the canyon, a strong signal isn't a given. The RAZE Mobile App keeps capturing offline: the inspector completes the photos and responses on site, the app flags which sets of data were captured offline and still need to sync, and everything syncs in full once the phone reconnects. The lender gets the same record it would from a lot in town.

The market

Lafayette is the Hub City of Acadiana, the heart of Cajun and Creole Louisiana, and the fourth-largest city in the state. It grew with the offshore oil industry, whose companies filled the Oil Center from the 1950s, and with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Vermilion River runs through town, and in August 2016 record rain sent floodwater into homes across Lafayette Parish.

How RAZE ran it

Orders here often arrive as a lot number, before a new street has an address a map can place. RAZE doesn't need the street number to prove the visit: each photo the inspector captures in the RAZE Mobile App is linked to the draw sheet line item it supports and carries its GPS coordinates and capture time, so the record shows which lot and which work the draw is paying for.

The market

Morgantown was settled in 1772 and chartered by Virginia in 1785 on the Monongahela River, about 77 miles south of Pittsburgh. It is the seat of Monongalia County, one of the faster-growing counties in West Virginia, and home to West Virginia University, whose campuses have been linked since 1975 by the Personal Rapid Transit, a network of automated cars. Much of the city climbs the hills above the river.

How RAZE ran it

Orders here have come in as lot numbers, before a street address existed. A lot number doesn't tell a reviewer which hillside the inspector stood on, and the photos do: each one taken in the RAZE Mobile App carries GPS latitude and longitude and a date and time stamp, linked to its draw sheet line item. On a steep lot, the same photo set shows which work on the slope the draw is paying for.

The market

Cocoa Beach sits on a narrow barrier island in Brevard County, between the Atlantic and the Banana River, with Port Canaveral to the north and Patrick Space Force Base to the south. Incorporated as a town in 1925, it grew with the space program at Cape Canaveral, and the Cocoa Beach Causeway carries State Road 520 across the Banana River into town.

How RAZE ran it

On the ocean side of the island, building seaward of Florida's Coastal Construction Control Line takes a state permit as well as a local one, and lenders want the draw record to be just as exact. A RAZE draw inspection documents the work with geo-stamped, time-stamped photos linked to the draw sheet, and the report reads the same as one from an inland subdivision.

The price stays put through all of it. RAZE prices draw inspections by project type, not location, so a new home on the edge of Houston, an acreage home in the Panhandle and an island build on the Space Coast cost the same, and so does any other U.S. address. Why it works

What makes RAZE work in markets like these

Seven things keep the workflow the same from Greater Houston to the Atlantic, whether a site has a strong signal or a street number.

  • Offline draft mode

Field capture works without a signal. Everything syncs in full when the phone reconnects.

  • Photos tied to line items

The record shows which lot and which work a draw pays for, whatever the order called the address.

  • Inspector on a framed jobsite using the RAZE Mobile App, with budget line items and percent complete on screen

    RAZE Mobile App

Photos and percent complete, captured against the draw sheet.

  • Marketplace where you have no inspector

RAZE sends a background-checked inspector from the RAZE Inspection Network.

  • Direct Request where you do

Your own inspector runs the same workflow and returns the same report. You pay them directly.

  • Geo-stamped. Time-stamped. Photo-documented.

Every photo carries location and time, linked to its draw sheet line item.

  • The same report in every market

A reviewer reads a hillside lot in West Virginia and a beach house on the Space Coast in the same format.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. RAZE completed draw inspections in each of them in May 2026. Orders are taken at any U.S. address, including Alaska and Hawaii, at the same RAZE Rate Card price, and they can go to the lender's own inspector through Direct Request or to a background-checked inspector from the RAZE Inspection Network through the Marketplace.

Yes. Every Houston order runs the same RAZE workflow (order, dispatch, capture, deliver), whichever corner of the metro the site is in. The inspector captures photos and percent complete against the draw sheet in the RAZE Mobile App, every photo carries GPS coordinates and date and time stamps linked to its draw sheet line item, and the report reads the same as one from Canyon or Cocoa Beach.
