# Using Ask AI

> Type what you need in plain language, and Ask AI drafts it, shows a preview, and creates nothing until you confirm.

## Quick Reference

- Click Ask AI at the top of any screen.
- Type the request, for example "Order a draw inspection for next Monday."
- Review the preview and adjust it in the chat.
- Confirm. Nothing is created until you do.

## Before You Start

- Open the project you want to work on. Ask AI knows the project you're viewing.

## Step 1: Order an Inspection

**Ask, review, confirm.** Ask AI shows an Inspection Preview with the name, number, type, special instructions, request type, and Final setting. Change anything in the chat, for example "change the date to Thursday," then confirm.

## Step 2: Edit Budget Lines

**Propose, then confirm.** Ask AI can add, update, or remove line items in an existing budget. It applies the change once you confirm.

## Step 3: Create a Project

**Start from documents.** Ask AI asks for project documents, such as an appraisal, extracts the details, and resolves questions in the chat. Then it takes you to the project form.

## Tips

**DO**
- Read the preview before you confirm.
- Correct details in the chat instead of fixing the job later.
- Ask for a summary of the project you are viewing.

**WATCH FOR**
- Ask AI cannot create a new budget. Use the Budget tab.
- Nothing is created until you confirm.

## Troubleshooting

**Q: Will Ask AI act without asking?**
A: No. It shows a preview and waits for you to confirm.

**Q: Can Ask AI summarize a project?**
A: Yes. Ask for a summary of the project you're viewing.

**Q: Can I see old conversations?**
A: Yes. History keeps every past conversation, read-only.
